SBAT 2024/25

Students wishing to commence an SBAT in 2024 please come to the Career office and collect the appropriate paperwork for parent/guardians and employers. Please understand that you will need to have an employer willing to take you on before you can apply. Other circumstances which you will need to consider:

  1. Where is the TAFE course? If it is face to face in Tamworth, Inverell, Armidale, Grafton etc. you will need to travel there on your own reconnaissance, that is, pay for travel and accommodation. Can you do the course at school e.g. Hospitality?
  2. If it is an online TAFE course consider how well do you complete online learning –are you organised, able to navigate through many areas, do you have a reliable computer including headphones, microphone, camera, and sound that all work.
  3. If it is one day TAFE course and one day at work per week, will you keep up with the other subjects you have chosen to study in Year 11 and 12? This is a big commitment you are making, and you need to be organised. Some TAFE courses will require you to also complete one week work placement – can you afford the time out of class?
