Kids Corner
The Kids Corner section of this fortnight’s newsletter features speeches from the “In My Opinion” speech program written by Eliana and Hasanlee and a letter to David Attenborough by Sophie in Year 4.
I trust you enjoy them just as much as the audience and I did:
Sophie (Year 4) -
Hasanlee (Year 5) – Aboriginal Art
Did you know that Aboriginal Art is the oldest form of artistic expression in the world? Can you imagine, a whole 60,000 years ago?
Hello my name is Hasanlee and I’m going to teach you about Aboriginal Art because no one knows about it. Aboriginal Art (pause) it might not be very important to everyone but (pause) imagine the world has not developed yet and no one has discovered the voice in you (pause).
How would you feel, nothing to explain to yourself? That’s where aboriginal art comes in.
To conclude, the smallest little things might not be important for everyone, but remember, it’s the whole world for some, especially for Aboriginal Art.
Eliana (Year 4) - On-line Resources
Have you ever wondered why online resources like Notes, Keynotes and Pages are popular? These days they are considered helpful. However I do not agree. That’s because these resources are not important as paper and pencil.
When you use digital resources your ability to physically write is compromised. This will negatively impact the quality of your work due to increased distractions that technology presents and lack of productivity. This generation’s students are starting to find that iPads, laptops and computers are efficient tools for learning. This is highly recommended bot to do as it will affect your physical writing skills. Now I’m going to ask two people how they practice their writing.
So you see, I just asked these people and they agree. Do you know what I understand from this?
Well, this means that commonly people prefer physical writing to digital writing.
Therefore, we can infer that digital is more detrimental to learning than physical writing. So what do you think the solution is?
I believe as a school community we should prioritize physical writing more than digital writing!
