Shrek The Musical Jr.

Don't forget to save the dates (and tell all your friends and relatives!)

Monday 30th October (evening) and Wednesday 1st November (daytime and evening)

It was wonderful to see so many grade 5/6 students trying out for all the 'main' parts. Thank you to all the teachers who gave up their lunch breaks and non-teaching time to run in-person auditions and view videos, especially Mrs Vranken and Mrs Beveridge who gave up every spare minute they had last week. Nearly all the students were willing to take on "big" or "medium" roles, with some roles having over a third of the students wanting them! This did, of course, make the selection process VERY difficult! Congratulations to all the grade 5/6 students - we know that you will all be spectacular in the role you were selected for!

Thanks to the parents who let me know they are willing to help make Shrek Jr spectacular! The form link below didn't work properly in the last newsletter for the first few days... but it is working now! We are calling on all the creative people out there in our community (and those 'not-so-creative' who are willing to get involved). We need assistance this term with costumes (you don't need to sew - cutters, gluers and shoppers are needed too!) and people willing to build, make, or paint stage sets and props (again - there are both little and big jobs to be done). Some jobs can be done here at school, while others can be completed at home. We are also gathering names of volunteers who will be needed next term with students' hair and make-up, selling tickets, and helping backstage or in the hall. Please indicate how you may wish to assist by completing this form:

Alternatively, you can contact me directly by email. (lbourke@sjyarrajunction.catholic.edu.au)

Thanks,

Ms Lisa Bourke
