Moana Jnr: Costumes
Sneak Preview of the Moana Costumes
Thank you to Mrs Sharon Christensen (LSO) for her tireless work, dedication and creativity. Sharon has led a small team of helpers in sourcing and creating costumes for the production. We can’t wait to see all of the costumes in ‘play’ once our whole school rehearsals commence in September. Thank you to those who have assisted Sharon, who has contributed many, many hours in her own time to bring the Moana characters to life. Here is a preview of some of the beautiful costumes produced by Sharon.

Please refer to the attached notification sent to all families via Skoolbag last term.
A reminder to families of students in Year Three and Four that their shirts are required to be sent to school as soon as possible as these students are rating their costumes with Jenny Riddell during Arts specialist class time. Thank you to all families who have already sent their child’s items to their child’s class teacher.
Performance Arrangements
‘Moana Jr.’ is scheduled to be staged across two performances (11:00 am and 7:00 pm) at The Frankston Arts Centre on Monday, October 16. Two students have been cast in each main role for the shows and students will be allocated to either performance, or both performances if deemed necessary, as specified in the Audition Registration posted on Operoo in Term One. The arrangements for the two casts will be announced prior to ticket sales commencing on Monday, August 28th. Please see the attached playbill.
All students from Foundation to Year Six are expected to perform in both the daytime and evening performances of Moana JR. In addition, a range opportunities will also exist for:
-Year 1-4 students to perform a tap dance, led by Mrs Heath.
-Year 5 and 6 students to perform in a contemporary dance item led by Mrs McKeown
-Year 3-6 students who are choir members to perform in a feature item, led by me.
Parents with concerns or challenges around their child’s participation are asked to please contact myself or a member of the leadership team as soon as possible. School productions at St Brendan’s School are traditionally much anticipated highlights of community engagement in our school, occurring every second year.
Tickets
On October 16th, all students will be involved in the matinee performance at 11:00 am and the evening performance at 7:00 pm. From August 28th, each family can initially purchase up to four tickets for each performance. Ticket sales will then open without restrictions from September 11 for families wanting to purchase additional tickets. The performances will provide families with two options to attend either (or both!) performance/s. This is great news for parents or carers who wish to take their younger children to Moana JR. during the daytime or invite elderly friends and relatives who may prefer to attend a daytime performance of Moana JR. Please see the attached flyer for ticketing information.
Production Day
As production day approaches, regular logistical updates will be posted in this newsletter, via Skoolbag and via Operoo for families. As this day is tightly scheduled due to the two performances (11:00 am and 7:00 pm) all students will be required to be dropped at school at 8:15 am on Monday, October 16 for a 8:30 am sharp bus departure. Please note this in your family schedule. Students will all be required back at the theatre between 6:15 pm and 6:30 pm depending on their role, for a 7:00 pm performance. The evening performance is expected to conclude at approximately 8:15 pm.
Yours in faith & harmony.
