OSHC News

During week one of Vacation Care, our wonderful Educational leader planned lots of exciting activities for the children. Each day was full of themed home days, which included:

  • Christmas in July - children ate Christmas food and decorated gingerbread cookies.
  • Footy Colours Day - educator Harvey ran a basic football skills workshop.
  • Pyjama Party -  children got their nails painted and made pizzas, just to name a few.

Week two began with:

  • Splodge & Groove - the children participated in a craft workshop and got glitter tattoos.
  • Pepper Street Art Centre - a tour of the art gallery and an art class with an experienced artist/art teacher.
  • Scientific Circus Incursion - a tropical holiday at OSHC.
  • Farm animals visited OSHC.

OSHC Educators Day

On Wednesday the 26th of July, it was National Out of School Hours Care OSHC Educators Day. We celebrated and recognised the important role Educators play in the lives of children. This year’s theme is “At the Heart of the Community”

Here at Magill School, we value our educators with the utmost appreciation and respect for the incredible work they do providing enriching experiences that engage our children, connecting with the school community every day by supporting families and children’s education.

As a big thank you to all the educators we have at OSHC, we recognised them by holding a team Professional Development Day to improve our knowledge in understanding children’s behaviour and how we can guide them effectively. This was followed by a celebratory pizza lunch with cake and a small gift of appreciation!

Carpark Reminder

We would like to remind families that the OSHC carpark is strictly for staff only - unless you require disability parking. This is for any time of the day, and all-weather conditions. This is due to safety concerns to ensure that no children are walking through the carpark with reversing cars and to avoid congestion with school and OSHC staff arriving/leaving for the day.

We have also noticed some parents speeding into the carpark which is extremely unsafe.

There is ample parking available on Magill Road as well as at The Tower Hotel, so please park there and enter via the gate and pathway when dropping off or collecting your child/ren from OSHC.
