Leadership Report

Welcome To Term 3

It has been nothing short of a whirlwind start to the term. We've had a couple of weeks to settle into the new building and teachers and students are really enjoying the new learning spaces. I  want to thank everyone for helping to make the transition so smooth. Carpark and asphalt work should be finishing up in a few weeks time .

If a new building wasn't enough, we are close to finalising our planning for a new playground, which will be built on the existing playground and transportable classroom spaces. We hope to have all documentation ready so that the project can go out to tender in a few weeks time. The playground will be constructed using the $575,000 given to us by the Department for Education. The Magill School Governing Council has agreed to make a significant contribution as well.  We'll share the design with everyone when the tender is awarded.

This year, our school band is entering the ABODA (The Australian Band and Orchestra Director’s Association) SA School Bands and Orchestra Festival and will be performing on Thursday 17th August. Over 3000 students from 38 schools will be competing. This is a wonderful opportunity for our band to showcase their talents and gain valuable performance experience. They will be competing in the Junior Concert Band category. I want to thank Nick Vladcoff and Aaron Lipp in preparing the band for the upcoming competition. I know their performance will be fantastic. Good luck!

Parents and caregivers should have received an email or SMS from the Parent Survey Team with a unique link to participate in the 2023 annual parent survey, which is now open.

If you didn’t receive an email or SMS with your unique survey link, contact education.ParentSurvey@sa.gov.au and include our school’s name in your email.

The survey takes less than 10 minutes and will help us understand:

  • what we’re doing well
  • where we can improve
  • what’s important to you

It has been coordinated centrally so that added administration workload isn't placed on the school. Your answers won't identify you or your child. Only collated feedback will be provided to our school. Information collected will inform school improvement planning and activities at the school. The survey closes at midnight on Sunday 27th August.

I look forward to another wonderful term ahead.
