Term 3

In Term 3 we will be learning fundamental movement skills. Students will engage in gymnastic clinics and apply static balances in simple movement sequences. Students will engage in striking and fielding games, developing skill refinement.

 

The Premiers Be Active Challenge is happening  this term. Once the students have recorded 4 weeks of physical activity, please return the booklet to their class teacher.Medals will be distributed at the end of the school year.

Students will:

  • define static balance
  • list different static balances
  • use and follow rules in gymnastics 
  • practise different static balances
  • compare a static balance and a dynamic movement
  • demonstrate movement concepts when performing gymnastics sequences
  • create a movement routine using gymnastic movements
  • reflect on what you can do and what you need to improve
  • demonstrate fair play and inclusion towards others
  • compare different striking techniques
  • apply strategies when moving to space
  • use and follow rules in striking and fielding games

 

 

Term 4 

In Term 4 we will be learning strategies, fundamental movement skills and concepts of skipping and target games. We will transfer and apply our skills in the Jump Rope for Heart Program. 

Students will focus on leadership skills, teamwork and fair play to be showcased on Sports Day (Thursday November 9th).

 

Students will:

  • list different jumping techniques
  • practise different jumping skills
  • create a movement routine using a jump rope
  • reflect on how to show respect for ourselves and others
  • define fair play and unfair play in games
  • explore target games
  • explore adjusting different throwing techniques to improve target accuracy.
