NSW All Schools Cross Country 2023

 

The NSW All Schools Cross Country event held at Eastern Creek, Sydney, brought together young athletes from all over the state to compete. Among the participants were three Boorowa Central School students, Isabella Piper, Meghann Southwell, and Imogen Pye. Isabella Piper finished 55th out of 76 competitors in the 16 years girls' age group. Her place is a testament to her hard work and preparation for the event. Meghann Southwell also demonstrated her strong resolve by placing 66th out of 76 in the 16-year-old girls' category. Imogen Pye finished 49th place out of 59 competitors in the 18 years girls’ age group. Imogen's determination was evident as she tackled the challenging course, earning her a commendable position in a competitive field. As a school community, we couldn't be prouder of Isabella, Meghann, and Imogen for their outstanding performances at the NSW All Schools Cross Country event. Their achievements are an example to all students, reminding us that with determination and hard work, we can accomplish remarkable things.

 

Western Area Secondary Athletics Trials 2023

Friday 28 July 2023, our talented athletes from Boorowa Central School participated in the Western Area Secondary Athletics Trials held in Dubbo. It was a day filled with excitement, determination, and outstanding performances from our students, as they showcased their athletic prowess against tough competition from schools across the region.

 

Among the many shining stars, several students stood out with their achievements.

 

- Max Galvin showed incredible speed and determination, securing a well-deserved 3rd place in the 15 years 200m race.

 

- Isabella Piper demonstrated her athletic prowess in both the 200m and 1500m races for 16 years, securing 1st place in the 200m and an impressive 3rd place in the 1500m event.

 

- Meghann Southwell displayed her endurance and talent, achieving an admirable 4th place in the 1500m race for 15 years.

 

- Kirsten Piper displayed her dedication and strength, finishing 3rd in the highly competitive 1500m race for 13 years.

 

- Mylee Taylor impressed everyone with her determination and skills, clinching 4th place in the 1500m race for 15 years.

 

Additionally, the 15 years Boys Relay Team, comprising of Max Galvin, Ashley Walsh, Xavier Roffey, and Alex Craig, showcased exceptional teamwork and speed, earning a remarkable 2nd place in their category.

 

The outstanding performances of Isabella Piper and the Boys 4x100 15 years relay team have earned them a well-deserved opportunity to represent the Western Secondary Schools Athletics (SSA) at the upcoming NSW CHS Athletics Championships on 7- 9 September 2023. We wish them the best of luck as they compete against other talented athletes from all over the state. 

 

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Western Area Secondary Athletics Trials.. We look forward to cheering on Isabella and the Boys 15 years relay team at the upcoming NSW CHS Athletics Championships!
