SERVING OUR COMMUNIUTY: KEEN ON GREEN

By Ben White (Year 9 Program Co-ordinator)

As we seek to find ways to serve our local community, our Year 9 students recently spearheaded an inspiring, "Keen on Green Day," showcasing their dedication to a more sustainable future. From the arduous task of shifting crushed rock to create new pathways, to the intricate art of repotting grasses to enhance the beauty of our garden spaces, their hands-on involvement showcased not only their commitment but also their ability to translate intention into action.

A select group of students also worked on a project to design and build garden steps from recycled materials. The team worked tirelessly throughout the day with Mr Kenny to create safer entry and pathways into junior school garden spaces. The end product looked fantastic!

Another highlight was their collaboration with junior school kids in tree planting, underscoring the importance of intergenerational teamwork. The day exemplified service to our community and how young minds can drive positive change for a greener, more sustainable future.
