Queensland Touch Football - Junior State Cup

Four Mount Alvernia College athletes and two coaches participated in the recent Queensland Touch Football - Junior State Cup in Rockhampton over the holidays.

Congratulations to Chloe Pink, Georgie Grylls, Abbey Watts and Alicia Mills.

All the girls represented their affiliates proudly, and displayed great sportsmanship qualities.

Congratulations to Matilda who recently flew down to Melbourne to participate in the presentation at Federation Square for the Matildas Soccer team to farewell and wish them good luck for the Women’s world cup. They held a competition and wanted 23 people to help hand out a jersey to one of the final players of the squad, but they only wanted people that were named Matilda to be a part of this event.

I was lucky enough to be picked as one of the winners and attend this event. On the day we were called up one by one to give our selected player our jersey in which I gave mine to Claire Polkinghorne. We were also given a free shirt to wear and keep on the day, as well as the players placing a scarf around our neck when we went up on stage. I was also lucky enough to be one of the four girls out of 23 girls that made the news on The Project.
