Principal's Report

Dear all
A week has passed since the terrorist incident of last Friday shocked all Victorians.
Since then, there have been many discussions, points of view and hypotheses expressed. Some of these can tend to bring out the worst in humankind, and can tarnish all with the same brush. However, many discussions are fruitful and we acknowledge the courageous deeds of those who assisted on the day, those who were injured or killed, and those who fought to protect the Victorian community. We especially acknowledge the services of the Victorian Police and all the emergency services.
May we all learn from this critical incident and ensure that our thoughts and prayers are with all who have been directly or indirectly affected.
The Rev Archbishop of Melbourne, His Grace Peter Comensoli, released a Pastoral Statement on Monday 12 November 2018. It is attached for your perusal and reflection.
Year 9 City Experience
The Year 9 students have worked on preparing some field study units centering on a City Experience. This unit encourages them to become independent travellers and to do some inquiry-based research. I look forward to their final presentations.
I thank Christopher Seel and Adam Ferraro for organising this wonderful event. A special mention to the following staff who also attended and looked out for the students on the day -Mrs Lisa Douglass, Ms Sally Ferns, Ms Mish Mackay, Ms Cara McRae, Mr Peter Nathan, Mrs Christine Vaughan and Mrs Naomi Pernar.
Master Plan Update
Thank you to those of you who have passed on your thoughts regarding our proposed upgrade and refurbishment.
I have attached a further draft of our proposed new Science building, Creative Arts precinct and STEM room. I welcome all opinions and thoughts on these plans.
