The Year 1/2 Students have been learning about poetry. They have explored the craft of poetry by reading mentor texts and are now starting to write lots of their own poems. Here are some of the poems from our “Budding Poets!'

Yellow is like the feel of soft sand on my feet

Like the taste of creamy sour ice cream 

Smells like the shiny bright sun

Red is like spicy chilli 

Red is a heart pumping 

Red is mean 

Red is like blood

Yellow turns everything to fluffy dogs

yellow is smooth, yellow is kind, yellow is fun

yellow is just the thing for flowers on the ground to make me feel happy

Red is like the sound of a rose blowing 

Red is like a fire

Red is like a person singing old town road

Like the sound of birds swinging in the trees

Like the taste of spring water in Spring

Like the smell of flowers blowing on the grass

Like the feel of a blue smooth bottle

Pink is like the smell of flowers

Pink is like the taste of juicy strawberries

Pink is like pink butterflies

Pink is nice people

Pink is like missing the dead people
