School Run for Fun - Colour Explosion

Get ready for a blast of colour.  On Friday 27/9 (last day of Term 3) we are turning our event from bland to GRAND with an explosion of colour.

We are excited to participate in the School Run4Fun Colour Explosion.  It is the colour craze that is sweeping the nation.

The fundraising commences soon so keep an eye out for the Sponsorship Form each student will receive to help raise funds for our great school.

Learning for Life

Learning for Life provides families with opportunities to increase their child/children's success at school.  The program helps each child to reach their potential by supporting their education from primary through to post-school studies.

For more information see the attached flyer.

Disability Policy & Programs Parent Conference

You are invited to the 2019 Parent Conference for parents or carers of a child or young person with a disability on Wednesday 25/9, hosted by the Department for Education.

The conference is an opportunity for families to hear inspiring speakers and attend workshops that will build their capacity and knowledge to support their children.

Sessions will cover complex communication, disability funding, senior secondary and transition, autism, interoception, dyslexia, strategies for school success and hearing from the Commissioner for Children and Young People on "listening to children".

To register visit https://register.eventarc.net/e/43331.

Drop Off and Pick Up Zone

The front of school parking is for quick ‘drop off’ and ‘pick ups’ in the morning and afternoon. Please refrain from parking in the morning and afternoon for more than 2 minutes, similar to the Airport drop offs and pick ups.

When parents/carers park in this space for more than a few minutes it causes other traffic to bank up, especially coming up the hill from the Doctors Road roundabout. This is a a traffic hazard and we want to prevent the risk of any accidents.

Also a reminder to all parents and students that the school crossing is to be used for students and families to cross to and from the school safely. Families should not be crossing the road from the Foodland Carpark into the Northern end of the school, again this is a potential risk for accidents. Please support us in modelling safe road crossing by using the 'monitored school crossing zone.’

Father's Day Stall

Thank you to parents/carers, students and staff who supported the Father's Day stall.  We raised $1543.00 for the school.

Thank you to the Fundraising Committee for their efforts in organising and being available on the day to sell the various gift items.

We hope that the  Fathers enjoyed their day.

Hat Policy

A reminder to parents/carers that all students need to be wearing their hat  when outside at recess and lunch and participating in outdoor activities during class time.  All students need to wear a school dress code hat when attending excursions.

Hats can be purchased from the Front Office and Uniform Shop.  It is recommended that the student's name is clearly written inside the hat so that it can be returned if left in other areas of the school.
