The Music Program at McCarthy has resumed this year with the ensembles already preparing for their first performances. The Jazz Band practises from 8:00am on Wednesday mornings, and the Concert Band practises from 8:00am on Thursday mornings. Both bands first performances will at the College Open Day on Saturday March 9.

The College Choir practise Friday mornings from 8:00am in R4, and new members are always welcome.

Ensemble rehearsals at lunchtime have also resumed. The ensembles offered at McCarthy include a Brass Quintet, Brass Ensemble, Saxophone Group and Woodwind Ensemble. Students are welcome to come along and participate in these groups.

This week, Year 7 received information on the Music Program. Information included joining the band program and learning instruments, as well as the commitment that comes with participating in the band program. We are looking forward to welcoming new students and have been excited about the enthusiasm shown by our year 7 students.
