PAT Testing

At the beginning of each year the CSO requires that all schools undertake PAT (Progressive Achievement Tests) testing for students from Years 3-10. At McCarthy, PAT will be occurring in English and Maths classes in Years 7 to 10 in Weeks 4 and 5. These assessments of student progress allow classroom teachers to diagnose misconceptions in understanding and areas for skill enhancement, and to then adjust programs accordingly.

NAPLAN

In 2019 all Year 7 and Year 9 students at McCarthy will complete NAPLAN online - something the students in these groups have not experienced. In order to familiarise students with the online format, from March 25 to 4 April students in Year 7 and 9 will engage in a practice online NAPLAN assessment that has sample tasks from each of the NAPLAN test areas. These opportunities allow students to experience the interactive ways that questions are posed in the online environment prior to the actual NAPLAN tests during 14 to 24 May.
