ATSI Welcome

Yaama

My name is Lisa Smith, I am the newest member AEA team member at MCC. I am a mature and proud local Gamilaroi Woman. Having been born locally and living in the Tamworth area for most of my life with my family.

During my journey I have explored many different paths. Having worked outside in our local community before commencing work within the school environment. To some, I may be a familiar face and others new. Previously I was the Primary AEA at St Edward’s for many years.

During those years I have assisted and supported students, family and staff in many areas. From in-class support for students (academically, culturally and personal development) to initiating Cultural based programs. I enjoy working with our Aboriginal community to provide greater cultural knowledge and experience within the school community and being a point of contact for everyone.

I believe that working together as a team,  we are stronger and achieve so much more and as the saying goes, from little things, big things can grow.

I’m excited and eager to continue to support, learn and work alongside our students, staff and families (new and old) during our journey at McCarthy.
