Wellbeing
Last week we were very happy to welcome back our students to their 2022 school year. The day was a positive one where students were able to engage in some pastoral care activities with the focus on forming positive relationships with their teachers and peers. Our Year 7 students continued to transition into secondary school on Wednesday 3rd Feb with a day of activities and sessions to help them settle into Killester College. Our students presented well for their School Photos and we hope our uniform expectations will be maintained throughout the remainder of the year.
It is so nice to watch our students connect with their peers and enjoy being back in the school environment together. There was much hustle and bustle throughout the corridors as students busily set into their new year levels. We hope that the students have had a positive start to the year. We encourage you to please contact your daughter's Homeroom teacher, Year Level Leaders, Miss Neville or Mr Harte if you have any concerns or want to discuss how we can support you daughter here at Killester.
We have met with our senior Student Leaders and they are ready to start their Committee Meetings next week. We know after two years of interruptions to their school year they are very keen to organise and run some activities for their school community. We congratulate all the 2022 student leaders and look forward to working with them. Year 7 student leaders will be elected after the Year 7 Camp in March.
Uniform reminders:
This is a friendly reminder to students and parents of our uniform requirements. These were emailed out prior to the school year commencing. We ask that students please follow these guidelines.
Schools TV
Did you know our school website has a great resource for parents/ carers to access. It is regularly updated with up to date information about adolescents and ways in which parents/ carers can support them. We would love for you to check it out, we are confident you will find it useful.
