High Achievers 2021

Killester College congratulates and respectfully acknowledges students who worked hard to complete their Senior VCAL/VCE Certificates in 2021. Our local area is fortunate to have Catholic Schools who continue to provide wonderful educational opportunities for our community. The last two years were extremely challenging for students highlighting the importance of resilience, pivoting, collaboration and person-centred care.
Whilst VCAL/VCE results are significant, an ATAR is only a reflection of a small moment in time and does not define a person. The Senior Pathways Team hope is for students to be able to find and develop their passion and love of lifelong learning.
All our families have seen the dedication and hard work their daughters have committed to their education. Families would also know the sustained support offered by staff of Killester College. The College would like to acknowledge and thank parents/guardians for the support of their daughter’s education during periods of remote learning throughout the last two years.
The ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) is the measure used in offering places in Higher Education. Currently over 98% of graduating VCE students from Killester will undertake Higher Education next year. We congratulate our College Dux, Justine Ly, who achieved an ATAR Score of 97.70 including a perfect study score of 50 in English.
We further acknowledge that:
- 100% completion rate for VCE/VCAL
- 9.4% of students received an ATAR over 90 (see below for list)
- 34% of students received an ATAR over 80
- The median ATAR was 73 (state average )
- The median study score TBC next year
- Percentage of study scores of 40 and above TBC next year (see below for list)
Killester College would like to congratulate the 2021 cohort on these results! The 146 Year 12 students of 2021 did so whilst demonstrating strength, kindliness, courage and being generous of heart. The challenge is now presented to the 2022 Year 12 students to continue this work ethic in a collaborative manner in the spirit of the Kildare Education Ministries Core Values.
