Music

Hello and welcome back everybody.

It already is delightful to have all the girls at school and several of the ensembles have already made a start, which is very satisfying for all concerned.

For everyone's information the following ensembles are rehearsing:

  • Concert Band - Monday 3.15-4.15pm
  • Soul Collective - Tuesday 3.15-4.15pm
  • Honk - Thursday 3.15-4.00pm
  • Bollywood Fusion - Thursday Lunchtime in Tullow
  • Swing Sisters will be starting once Ms Garafolo gets back from her honeymoon!
  • Senior Vocal group will be restarting in the next two weeks.

I would encourage any musician, especially those having private tuition, who is looking for a fun, social outlet to consider joining one of these groups. We go away in May (27th to 29th) to Warbuton for a music camp which is a great way for all the students to really get to know each other. The girls who went last year can't wait to get back there again this year!

Our performance plan ( tentatively Covid based) looks like this:

  • Thursday March 24th - Tunes from Tullow  5.00pm (outdoors) featuring all the ensembles + soloists
  • Thursday June 16 - Year 7 / 8 Band program Concert #1. 5.00pm & 6.00pm in Tullow featuring the Semester One band students and some senior groups.
  • Monday September 12 - School Concert  7.30pm- TSpringvaleown Hall
  • Thursday November 24th - Year 7/8 Band program Concert #2. 5.00pm & 6.00pm in Tullow featuring the Semester Two band students and some senior groups.

Our New Music Teachers

Over the next few newsletters we'll be introducing our instrumental music teachers. They're a highly skilled team of musicians who love to share their enthusiasm for their instruments. Individual lessons are available for flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, drums/percussion, guitar, piano, violin, viola and cello.  Introducing our piano teacher Tatyana Derevyanko M.Mus  B.Ed
