Grant & Guy Chisnall 

(SVC 1988-93 and SVC 1991-94)

 Grant Chisnall (above) was recently featured on Radio SEN Hobart being interviewed about the unfortunate demise of Tim Paine. In the interview Grant was asked about his assessment of howTim Paine's resignation was managed by the Australian Cricket Board. 

 

Upon leaving school Grant attended Duntroon and had several overseas postings. Towards the end of his career he was a subject matter expert in leadership development and security operations at Australia's premier military academy. In this role he was responsible for the training package design and delivery of security operations, leadership and decision-making training and exercises for the Australian Army's future leaders.

Grant assists Interplast as a member of its Audit and Risk Committee. Interplast is a not for profit body that sends teams of volunteer plastic and reconstructive surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and allied health professionals to provide life-changing surgery and medical training in 17 countries across the Asia Pacific region.

 

After serving in the Australia Army from1993 to 2006, Grant moved back into civilian life and is currently the CEO and founder of Left of Boom which is about proactively managing risk to create competitive advantage.  It prepares businesses to deal with any situations that may threaten their people, operations or reputation.  It uses its extensive experience advising governments and business in risk and crisis management to deliver realistic training and pragmatic advice that empowers leaders to prevent, detect and respond to emerging threats with confidence.

 

Grant is the son of North Melbourne Premiership player Peter Chisnall who came to Tasmania to coach the New Norfolk football team in 1976.

 

Grant’s younger brother, Guy also attended the College from 1991to 1994.  Guy went into the butchery business and has worked his way through the meat trade business, and with further management training through Mt Eliza Business School and a leadership course at the University of Illinois (USA), to be currently the Business Development Manager for Coles in Melbourne.  Two outstanding young achievers.
