Sports Update

Polding Touch Football Trials

Best of luck to Mylie Doust, Bronte Ellis, Pat Wright, Dustin & Aden McBain who will be representing both St Joseph’s and the Armidale Diocese today at the Polding trials in Tamworth. We are confident they will represent us with pride and great sportsmanship.

Cross Country

All going to plan, we are planning for the whole school Cross Country this Monday, 4 April. A revised parent helper schedule will be emailed to parent volunteers. Thank you to those parents who promptly provided their Working With Children Check documentation. The Lion’s Club van will be available for purchasing lunches. Students are to wear their sports uniform to school on Monday.

Preston Campbell Cup

It is always a pleasure to take St Joseph’s students to sporting events and the students who attended the Preston Campbell Cup one again were outstanding! 41 students from Stages 2 & 3 travelled to Inverell on Wednesday to participate in the Cup. Congratulations to every single student! Our students shone for the amazing students they are. The way they conducted themselves both on and off the field was an absolute credit to them. They certainly represented St Joseph’s with pride.

Students eagerly participated in an ‘Inspire’ presentation by former Canberra Raiders Captain, Alan Tounge. Students learnt about teamwork, acceptance and belonging. This was then followed by coaching clinics conducted by Kurt Gidley, Taniela Tuiaki & Josh Morris. These sessions were extremely beneficial for further developing attack and defense skills. A 7 a-side competition was also played amongst the participating schools. Most teams played 3 or 4 games, with many students improving their skills and confidence significantly by the last game.

Thank you to our wonderful students, our amazing parents and our extremely dedicated staff.
