Lourdes

Lourdes in review 2022

With 2022 nearing its end, it is time to reflect and celebrate the many achievements of students within the wonderful house of Lourdes. At first this year presented many challenges with the change to vertical streaming of students for the first session of the school day. Teething issues arose but then students settled and developed some wonderful relationships with students from other year groups and their PACC teachers and staff.

A big element incorporated into PACC groups has been the Resilience Project. Students have worked through this program with the aim of developing many skills and traits (not just resilience) such as empathy and kindness to mention a few. This program has helped students adjust to the return to regular school after years of ongoing interruptions due to Covid.

Particular moments I have been proud of mainly focus on the achievements of students. Including but not limited to participation in Public Speaking, involvement within the TASCA Exhibition including music and drama performances, sporting achievements, particularly higher honours of representation such as reaching Nationals for Athletics, involvement with representing our school at Ag Shows, fundraising efforts for charity organisations. Our students have continued to excel in so many areas and should be congratulated.

And finally, to the Lourdes staff. For staff too, the change to vertical streaming presented many challenges and certainly extra work on top of an already demanding job. I congratulate and thank you all on your professional and personal approach to each of your PACC groups. The care and compassion you have shown your students has been wonderful to see. The support you have provided me has certainly helped me throughout the year. Thank you, staff.

Have a pleasing and restful break over Christmas and the January holidays.

Thank you,

Oliver Neader.
