End of Covid restrictions meant many guests were able to return and speak to students about all things careers.

  •  Years 10-12 participated in the University Roadshow at the beginning of the year- guest speakers from University of Newcastle, University of New England, Charles Sturt University and Southern Cross University presented to the students on university courses, campus life, scholarships and early entry applications.
  • The Australian Defence Force (ADF) visited the school in Term 1 and presented to a group of students in Years 9-12 about opportunities in three arms of the ADF - Airforce, Army and Navy. 
  • In Term 1 a large number of Year 10 successfully completed the General Induction to Construction course held at the school. These students participated in workplace safety scenarios to give them the skills and confidence to work safely and effectively on worksites. Students gained their 'White Card' qualification that assisted many in their work experience endeavors. A special thankyou to Northern Inland Community College - Gunnedah Campus for providing accredited trainers to conduct the program.
  • The compulsory Work Experience program was again held for Year 10 during Term 2. Students were able to work in a variety of fields locally and throughout the region. Feedback from employers about the students was positive, with many going on to secure part-time work or apprenticeships and traineeships. 
  •  The College hosted a Work Experience 'Meet and Greet' for Year 10 students prior to work experience. This was a valuable opportunity for students to hear from business owners and employers about various industries. There were a number of presenters that represented a range of industries. A special thankyou to Many Fabrication & Engineering, Namoi Valley Bricks, WA Baxter & Co, Gunnedah Veterinary Hospital, Maeve Brooks and White Haven Coal.
  • Services Australia visited Year 12 in Term 3 and took them through the information and requirements for life beyond school and moving away from home. They were able to learn about the necessary requirements for Youth Allowance, Living away from Home allowances and Medicare information.
