BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

I AM GRATEFUL FOR...

Our amazing before care staff at TheirCare. TheirCare has been an amazing partner to South Melbourne Park Primary School and they work incredibly hard to ensure that our students are happy and engaged in the before and after school program.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

We have our school photos next Thursday the 3rd of March, please make sure that you have this date in your calendar. At South Melbourne Park Primary we are friendly, vibrant and curious, and our photography style reflects this.

PHOTO PERMISSIONS

At South Melb. Park Primary School we are a community of learners that is a step ahead. We wish to celebrate their achievements and to provide you with timely feedback on your child’s learning. To this end we use applications such as SeeSaw to send home updates and photos of your child. Every year we will be doing an annual opt out consent for photography and filming at our school. There will be more information posted on Compass concerning our Opt Out photo permission process.

NAPLAN ONLINE

This year our year 3s and year 5s will be completing NAPLAN online. If you are interested in how NAPLAN online looks, what the questions will be like, and the functionality of the platform then you can explore the public demonstration site with your child. You can find more information, along with the interactive demonstration platform, by following this link: https://www.nap.edu.au/online-assessment/public-demonstration-site

BREAKFAST CLUB

We are starting up our Breakfast club again soon! This will be running from Monday to Friday from 8:30 – 8:50, this is completely free and everyone is invited to attend to have a healthy and tasty meal together!

All students attending TheirCare will be able to participate. If your child does not participate in TheirCare then you will need to stay to supervise your child for the duration of the breakfast club, this is a great opportunity for you to meet other parents and you are welcome to have breakfast as well!

If you would like to volunteer to support the club as well please just contact the office on south.melbourne.park.ps@education.vic.gov.au

"WHAT WENT WELL TODAY"

Often we ask “how was your day?” but shifting this language to “what went well today?” helps to frame the way our students think and helps to focus their thinking on all the positives throughout the day. This way you will hear all the fantastic things your child is up to at school, and it will start to embed a habit of thinking about the positives in each day.
