Middle School

MIC Volleyball Program

This term the Middle School team have established a volleyball program for twenty enthusiastic RSC students which will run each Tuesday night after school for the duration of Term 4. The program has been established in conjunction with the Migrant Information Centre (MIC) who assist those with refugee and family stream migrant backgrounds to reach their full potential. A big thank you to our Year 9 Coordinator, Hannah Wertheim for her tireless commitment to the program and fostering our students’ positive school connections.

Year 9 and 10 Vaping Assemblies

Following a report on ABC’ s Four Corners program, which described vaping as being a new trend that is swiftly on the rise, we ran an information assembly about the dangers of vaping for our Year 9 and 10 students. We wanted to be sure that our students have the information that they need to continue to make good choices about their health and wellbeing. If you would like to view the information that we presented, I have placed a copy of the assembly in the Year level Teams pages. We encourage you all to have a conversation with your child about this session to reinforce our message that vaping is not only illegal but also alarmingly harmful to their health and wellbeing.

Year 9 City Experience

In Week 9 of this Term our Year 9 students will be heading into the Melbourne CBD for their City Experience program. Our InterGREAT coordinator, Jacqui Godfrey has created an information video which you can view here: Year 9 City Experience. There is also an event on Compass for parents to provide payment and consent for this event which does need to be attended to by the 7th of November to secure your child a place. Please contact either myself (kwatson@ringwoodsc.vic.edu.au) or Jacqui Godfrey (jgodfrey@ringwoodsc.vic.edu.au) if you have an questions.

JB will deliver all devices to the College in January at which time the IT services team will set up the devices to connect to our network, installing certificates and permissions to use the College infrastructure (printers, Compass) and connect devices to our self-service software system.

Please note that if a family chooses to use a different device, this may cause compatibility issues and the device must still be delivered to the school for certification prior to the beginning of the school year.
