Litter and Vandalism

This week at Assemblies, I spoke to students about two ongoing issues. The first is litter; there are many rubbish bins (landfill and recycling) located around the school and students are requested to do the right thing by putting rubbish in a bin instead of dropping it on the ground. I hope that parents are modelling good habits to their children, both in disposal of litter responsibly and also in recycling correctly.

The second issue is vandalism in toilets and changerooms. It seems that when groups of children get together, it can become fun to deliberately block toilets with toilet paper (a daily occurrence!) write graffiti on walls or deliberately damage soap dispensers, light fittings or toilet cubicles. Students who are caught deliberately damaging school property are risking their enrolment at the College. Bystanders and those who observe such behaviour are encouraged to report what they see. I am sure that all students want to use toilet facilities that are clean and in good order.

I encourage parents to discuss issues of litter and vandalism with their children.
