Welcome

Welcome back to Term 3. A very busy term for us all and the transition begins for our 2019 Prep children and their families.

Accessing My Aitken

We encourage parents to access My Aitken regularly to ensure they are kept up-to-date on schedules, timetables, events and your child’s learning program via the class blog.

Let Me Take You On A Journey!

“It is impossible,” said pride.

“It is risky,” said experience.

“It is pointless,” said reason

“Give it a try,” whispered the HEART.

Let me take you on a journey! Our focus this semester is to continue our endeavours and try to take on challenges and experiences which will heighten our learning and interaction within our community. Our children are beginning to change in the way they interact with their world, they have become ‘instant’ participants in which they demand and experience immediate outcomes and this experience is reinforced by the digital world. I believe the digital world is an amazing resource; however, it should not be used as a time filler tool. The children should not be spending more than 15 - 20 minutes per evening on their electronic devices.

Term 3 Assembly Schedule

The Term 3 Assembly schedule is attached below:

Chapel (9.00am) and Assembly (9.30am)

School Absence

I am extremely concerned with the continuing large number of families taking holidays during the school term. On numerous occasions, I have been told by parents, that young children can miss out on school. I strongly disagree, in the Preparatory School we lay a foundation for learning and every school day provides the children with a vital learning experience. Preparatory focuses on PREPARING children for independent learning. Please consider this when you are planning your holiday as a school day cannot be replaced with a worksheet. Such absences are not approved practice by the College.
