In the Classrooms

Here are some of the fantastic stories we have been writing this term.

Our focus has been on generating different ideas. We have been practicing making sure our ideas are clear, focused and interesting.

To do this we have been making sure we include

• We add quality details like who, what, where, when, why, how and my feelings.
• We narrow down our information topic to focus our writing,
• We make our stories interesting by creating a sentence to start our paper that will grab the reader’s attention right away!

We have also been practicing our grammar and conventions focussing on

• Full stops
• Capital letters
• Commas
• Exclamation marks
• Question marks
• Spelling

All stories will be sent home with your child at the end of the term.

Riding to School by Lachie Walker

I was riding my motorbike to school and I accidently hit it into Mr Martin’s school.

Well I couldn’t really did it!

Mr Martin got really, really cross.

“Grrrr!”

The Holiday by Ellie Evans

On the school holidays my family and I went to the resort in Tassie with Tassie Nanna.

We went for 10 days but then a big storm came so we have to go in the resort when we were in the island.

Oh dear! The bridge broke.

What will we do?

Mum said “I don’t know”

When will we do it?

Huh!

I don’t know

How will we do it?

So we set off to find something. We some wood, the same colour, and some more and some more until all of the wood we got was enough to fix it but we didn’t have any nails. We got some more nails until there was enough to get all of the wood down.

So mum said “let’s go”

So what will we do now?

We need to fix it but we don’t have a hammer.

So get a hammer.

We found some hammers so we could fix the bridge.

It was raining now so we washed and washed but it happened again.

So what we did was we jumped, we got more wood, we got the rest of the nails and we hammered and hammered and hammered and then there was another bit so we jumped it and did it again and again and again until we were home in the resort.

So we need to go there now.

How though?

Come on!

It’s so hard

We need to get there NOW!

This is a story from Jarrah Lewis.

Once there was a naughty man coming to steal some crystals.

Jarrah the policeman drove his army truck over to the naught man and killed him.

Police Car by Bryce Jones

So today this is all about police cars.

Once upon a time there’s a police car.

Than Bryce came out as the police came in.

Than the baddie came and the string went everywhere.

Nee, naw, nee, naw!

And probably it screamed so loud but nobody moved and it doesn’t work.

So the police come in and then went away to get the police car to get the baddie car.

The baddie went so loud “arhhhhhhh” and then said “oh no I’m a badie, I’m a badie”

The police went ‘Nee Naw Nee Naw Nee Naw’

The badie saw the rectangle lights and was captured.

The Little Mermaid by Jasmine Steele

One day there was a little mermaid under the sea looking for her family in the shop.

She was crying and said

“Mum, Mum, where are you I can’t find you, where did you go mum I need to go to school.”

“Wah, Wah, Wah!”

But her mum was at the work, her dad was at the work, she didn’t know who was sent here.

But phew! It was just a dream, a real dream. I can’t believe that was a dream, maybe it could happen in real life.

Wait! Mums at work and Dads at work!

I have a babysitter tomorrow oh yay!

I hope it’s a nice one. All my babysitters are not nice, I hope it’s actually a nice one.

This is the best day ever.

This is the nice babysitter.

“Yo Go, can we go to the playground?”

“Yes” her said.

“Yay, Yay, Yay we get to go to the playground!”

“Can we have a picnic?”

“Yes”

“Yay, we get a picnic to eat”

“Can we go to McDonalds?”

“Yay, Yay we get to go to McDonalds!”

“BEST BABYSITTER EVER!”

I wish I have this babysitter for ever but my mum’s home and my dad, I wish they were here to babysit me. My dad is the best babysitter and the second one is my mum and the last one is the babysitter from yesterday.

When it is time for bed I hop into bed and put my pyjamas on. “Arh! Good night.”

Its morning, time to go to school.

Yay!

“Can we go to school right now?”

“Yes we can”

Yay. I love school.

I went to school and found a new boy who was at high school, not primary school now or day care. He was a big boy who was 11. He couldn’t take care of himself still so her just did it.

The teacher got someone catched and they go to the principal’s office, that’s the best.

Yay, I don’t get to go to the principal, yay!

It’s time for home and I’m going to go.

“Can we go now?”

“No, it’s not time for home”

“I really wanted to go, but I can’t, I really wanted to, all the best”

It was the best day ever with my new babysitter. Maybe next time I will get her.
