Staff Development Day

A reminder of the Staff Development Day on 22 July.  Students return for Term 3 on Tuesday, 23 July 2019.  We wish all our students and families a wonderful and relaxing school holiday break.

Kindergarten Enrolments

Kindergarten enrolments for 2020 are now open.  Interviews are being conducted, with an aim of having them completed by the end of this term.

If you have already collected an enrolment package for your Kindergarten 2020 child, please complete the form and return it to the school office as soon as possible so your enrolment interview can be scheduled.

Please note, that until enrolment paperwork is received at the school office, we can not hold places for Kindergarten 2020.  Therefore, if you currently have a child at St Mary's and have a younger sibling starting Kinder next year, please let the school office know as soon as possible.

If you haven't yet collected a pack, they are available from the school office.

Pizza Lunch Fundraiser

Thank you to all our students and families who supported our Pizza Lunch Fundraiser last Tuesday.  A special thank you to the staff from the CSO who couldn't take part in the Pizza Lunch but donated $160 instead!  We made a profit of $842 from this activity.  This will go towards the cost of the Year 6 Canberra Excursion.  We will have another Pizza Lunch early next term.

Thank you for your support!

School Reports

Semester 1 School Reports will be able to be accessed from compass.  If you require a report sent to a non-custodial parent, please contact the school office to arrange this.  It is important that non-custodial parent addresses are kept up to date at the school office for this reason. Families who have previously made this request will automatically have a 2nd report sent to the appropriate addresses.

NAIDOC Week

We are celebrating NAIDOC Week this week.

Woolworths Earn & Learn

The Earn & Learn program has now finished.  Please return all stickers and sticker sheets to the school by Friday 5th July as we need to submit our sticker sheets by Sunday 7th July.

We would like to thank all our families who have dropped off their stickers.

Grandparents Day

Athletics Carnival

The Athletics Carnival will now be held on Thursday 25th July.  This is the day before Grandparents Day, which will allow Grandparents to attend both events if they so choose.

Parent helpers who are unavailable to help on Thursday 25th July are asked to contact the school office.   Unless you contact the office, we will assume you are still able to assist.

Signed student permission notes that have already been received at school will remain in place for this change of date.

2020 O'Connor Enrolments

A  reminder that enrolments for Year 7 2020 are open at O'Connor Catholic College.  Please submit enrolment forms for your son/daughter for Year 7 2020 urgently to O'Connor, as places are starting to fill up quickly.

Lost Property

We continue to find many unlabeled items of clothing and lunch containers in our lost property crates.  This makes it impossible to return items to students.  Could parents please be vigilant with putting a name in students clothing, especially jumpers, jackets and hats.  Any items found without a name are donated to the clothing pool.

Paper of Copy of the Newsletter

If you wish to receive a printed copy of the newsletter please contact the school office.

Whole School Assembly

The next Whole School Assembly is this Friday, 5th July.  Due to the large number of performers at this assembly, it will commence 10 mins early at 2:30 pm. 3S will be presenting a class item and we will also have a performance from our very talented Orchestra, Percussion Group and Guitar Ensemble who will play their eisteddfod pieces. This will give all students a chance to see the outcome of the hard work these students have put in rehearsing in their lunchtimes, and will give parents a chance to see the performances in case they could not make it to the eisteddfod.

Student Art Success

Congratulations to Tashabelle Cawley who has been selected as a finalist in the New England School Acquisitive Art Prize. Tashabelle's artwork will be on display as part of the 2019 Let's Hang It! Exhibition at the New England Regional Art Museum from the 2nd to the 18th August.
