Library News

NAIDOC Week in the Library
In the library we have been sharing Aboriginal stories. The children have enjoyed stories by Gregg Dreise including Mad Magpie, Kookoo Kookaburra and Silly Birds. We have also looked at Aboriginal artifacts and discussed how they were used by the Aboriginal people.
Book Club
Thanks to all the families who have supported book club this year.
With your support the library is able to purchase new resources for classrooms and new books for the library.
DON’T FORGET – Get organised in the holidays
BOOK WEEK 2019
Book Week this year will be celebrated in Week 5 next term, from the 18th-23rd of August. This year we have a dress up parade which will take place on Tuesday 20th August. The theme this year is “Reading is My Secret Power” so you have plenty of time to start planning your costume. Just a reminder that children wear school uniform on the day and change into their costume for the parade so it’s a good idea to keep costumes simple. Also no make-up or coloured hair spray.
PREMIERS READING CHALLENGE
Keep reading and logging your books for the PRC. Closes end of August.
