Dio Rugby Trials
On Friday, we went to Tamworth to play at the Diocesan trials for Rugby Union.
When we got there we were sorted into our team which was with Manilla and Quirindi. Josh was placed as hooker and Ollie was placed as fly-half even though he would've preferred fullback or winger. Sadly the team was not successful and we got beaten in our first game against St Edwards and against two other mixed teams.
When it was finally time to announce the 'possibles and probables' we were both lucky enough to be selected. We were both on different teams and we both felt that we performed well, Josh even set up a try. Ollie was winger and managed to score a try as well and was able to save one or two other tries. The final score was one try each.
After the game they announced the Dio team by calling out the forwards first and Josh was picked as starting hooker while Ollie was picked as blind side winger. It was amazing because the two Armidale people that went down both were selected in the starting team. Now we have to gear up for a 6 hour trip to Forbes to try out for the POLDING TEAM.
