Student Leadership

Multicultural Assembly

On 23rd of July, we celebrated the rich culture and diversity in our college, with the 2018 Multicultural Assembly. It was our privilege to host the Assembly which included a series of wonderful cultural acts from French singing to Bollywood dancing, and from Polynesian dancing to Filipino singing, all performed by students of Hampton Park. This event had everyone at school in one place together, supporting every performer on the day. It was a truly magnificent time where we saw everyone display our college values of Respect and Working Together. Our Multicultural Assembly has proved that everyone truly appreciates the differences of everyone in our college. Hampton Park has a broad range of different languages and cultures, and together this forms a unity, in other words, a strengthened community. A massive thank you to Mr. Shinkfield, Mr. Coles and Ms. Prahaladh for organizing the event. And well done to all our student performers and Mr. Cusack for their outstanding acts during Multicultural Assembly.

'LIVIN' SRC Fundraiser

On the 7th of August, our school held our second free dress day. Through the tremendous contributions from the students and teachers, we have raised $880.35. The leadership team would like to say thank you to everyone who contributed.

The free dress day event was organised as part of Anusha’s Passion Project which is to advocate for mental health and reduce the stigma surrounding to seek help. All the money raised will be going towards Anusha’s chosen charity “LIVIN”.

Sam Webb, who is the co-founder of the non-profit mental health organisation “LIVIN” lost his best mate through suicide. Thus, their aim is to reduce youth suicide rates which unfortunately is one of the leading causes of LIVIN seek to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness using the motto “it ain’t weak to speak.” Sam is passionate about helping people reach their full potential through positive wellbeing, change and a positive approach to life.

In the coming weeks, we will have an advocate from LIVIN coming into our school to raise an awareness. Stay tuned for more updates!

SRC ‘Student Learning Forum’ Update

On Wednesday the 18th of July, 72 students from across Year 7  to Year 12 participated in the Student Learning Forum. Students reviewed their feedback from the previous forum and discussed what has been improved and continuously improve for an adequate growth. It was our first time attempting this new technique where we evaluated our feedback. It was a massive accomplishment and definitely be utilising this approach more regularly in the coming future.
