GOLD MEDAL FOR BEN!

Ben Howell (Year 11) competed in the inaugural Australian Open Field Archery Championships held in Sherbrooke over the weekend.

He was 2nd in the Open Men’s Recurve after shooting a personal best in the unmarked round (with no marked target distances). He was also ranked 2nd after the end of the marked round which put him into the Finals (Top 4).

The Finals were shot as four targets with three arrows each and at the end of all four targets the highest score won. At the end of the four targets Ben was equal 1st leading to a single arrow shoot off to decide the event. 

Ben took out the title in tough conditions winning the Gold Medal and is now the current Australian Open Field Archery Champion.
