Prep FireEd (2)

On Tuesday 22nd November, the Preps had their second visit from Eltham Fire Brigade. They shared with Damian, Brian, Chris and ‘The Boss’ what they remembered from the week before about how to stay safe around fire and what to do when there is smoke in their house. Afterwards, they very excitedly had a look around and through the fire engine, before getting to spray the hose.

The firemen came to our school. They had a ladder. The firemen had a house and the firemen had a big red truck. We got to go in the truck. If we are in trouble we phone 000. We talked about good fires. Billie

The firemen came to visit our school. They let us squirt their hose and they let us go in their truck. It had a lot of buttons and levers. It was lots of fun. Now I know that my house has a smoke alarm and that the number to call is 000. Alessia

On Tuesday the firemen came to our school. It was fun. They let us go into the truck. The truck had a radio. In the truck it was cool. Whey there is a fire you crawl down low and go, go, go. I like firemen. It was very fun. Firefighters save people by putting out fires. Grace

The firemen came to our school. We had fun. They taught us to be safe when there is a fire. They taught us to stop, drop, cover and roll, and also to crawl and go, go, go. It was so much fun and we went in the firetruck. Hugh

Some men came to our school last week and the firemen taught us what was a good fire and a bad fire. A good fire is a fire that has grown ups and a bad fire is if you have your hair out and taught us to get down low and go, go, go. I liked when they let us squirt water out of the hose and they taught us to make sure our smoke alarm is on. Antoinette

Yesterday the firemen came to our school. They showed us the fire truck. It was fun and they were so funny. I wish they came everyday because I like learning. Evie
