Year 2 entry for the National Maths Talent Quest

Tania Whitehead, Talent Development and Enrichment Coordinator

We're thrilled to announce that one of our School's entries for the National Maths Talent Quest, 'Spaghetti and Meatballs' from Year 2L, has been selected to represent Victoria.

This year, The Mathematical Association of Victoria received more than 460 entries from over 55 schools. Out of these, only one entry from each year level in each category was chosen to represent the state.

Wow! A big congratulations to our Year 2 students for their outstanding efforts!

The HIVE is now open

As of October 2, our students are getting their first experience of HIVE - our brand new STEAM and Library Centre!

The acronym HIVE symbolizes our dedication to Harmony, Innovation, Vision, and Excellence - a commitment that mirrors the remarkable qualities our students, teachers, and staff exhibit each day.

Year 9 Expeditions

GREAT SOUTH WEST CAMP

Jessica Tham, Art and Year 9 Program Teacher

Last week, our Year 9 students embarked on an incredible six-night expedition in the Great South West of Victoria. They explored Port Fairy’s charm, tackled the Grampians, and discovered the farming life of Princetown.

Students went on historic town walks, cooked with peers, hiked through stunning landscapes, faced the thrill of abseiling, embraced farm life, and even tried their hand at bush dancing! This was an adventurous journey, packed with unforgettable moments and long-lasting memories.

Thanks to all who made this journey possible, and here's to the bonds and stories that will stay with us forever.

CAPE YORK

Emily Austin, Humanities and Year 9 Program Teacher

As part of the Year 9 Impact Program, two groups of students travelled to Cape York where they immersed themselves in Indigenous culture for a remarkable 10 days.

During the expedition, students completed a community project, leaving a long-lasting impact on the homelands they visited.

Students also cherished the experience of taking part in Welcome to Country ceremonies, exploring Sacred Sites, acquiring knowledge of Indigenous languages, enjoying refreshing swims in natural water holes, and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef!
