From the Principal's Desk

Farewell

It is always a time of mixed emotions as we have to say goodbye to staff near the end of the year. It's sad to see them leave but also exciting as new chapters begin.

At the end of this year, we say goodbye to Mrs Tina Cuni, Mrs Danielle Camerota and Ms Mimmalisa Trifilo.

Tina has been working with us since 2014. She has been working predominantly in Numeracy Intervention and more recently introduced the MacqLit program. There have been so many children who have benefited from her knowledge and expertise, as have staff, so she will be greatly missed. Tina has accepted a Food Tech role at Point Cook (P-9) College. An opportunity where she can combine her passion for teaching cooking and so we wish her all the very best in this new adventure.

Danielle Camerota began with us as a young graduate teacher back in 2013 working on her craft mainly in the junior and middle-year levels. More recently she has worked part-time as she raised three beautiful children. With her eldest starting Year Prep next year, Danielle has taken up employment a little closer to home, at St Mary MacKillop Keilor Downs, to make the 'school/kinder/daycare runs' that little bit more manageable.  Danielle's kind and gentle nature will be missed by all and we wish her well as she begins a new chapter in life.

Mimmalisa joined us in the second semester this year as our Visual Art Specialist, filling a role made vacant earlier in the year. In this short period of time, Mimmalisa has allowed children to experience art through a different lens and we thank her for the opportunities she has provided our children. Mimmalisa has interests in a wide range of fields and we wish her the very best in whatever the future may hold.

I hope to be able to make available an indicative staffing plan for 2023 in next week's newsletter.

Whole School Transition Session

Next Monday at 11:30 our current Year Prep - 5 children will have the opportunity to gather in their 2023 Learning Communities as a 'taster' of what is to come.

This transition opportunity has worked well in past years in relieving some of the anxiety associated with the year-to-year transition. It will allow for new students to experience the 'space', and for all children to 'meet and greet' as a new community.

This will be followed by our Step-Up Day, where children will meet their teacher and classmates, on Tuesday 13th December.

Christmas Raffle

Today each family will receive a set of ten (10) raffle tickets for our end-of-year Christmas Raffle.

There are some fantastic prizes to be won including:

Fees and Levies

Christmas Concert

It's Time to Sing!

Our Christmas concert is back and is scheduled for Tuesday 13th December.

Gates will open at 5:00 pm for families to set up

their picnic rug, join in some Christmas cheer and enjoy some time together before the formalities begin. Feel free to BYO a picnic dinner, or bring your own 'take-away'. Alternatively, our PFA will be running a sausage sizzle for you to enjoy.

In consideration to all, we ask that families sitting on deck chairs and the like set up toward the back or around the perimeter.

Formalities will commence at 6:00 pm with our Christmas concert: It's Time to Sing! which seems a fitting title since it's been a few years since we have been able to conduct such an event.

Our concert will showcase the skills our children have acquired throughout our Term 4 Dance Program so 'be there or be square!'

After our concert, we will draw the winners of our Christmas Raffle (tickets will go on sale next week). And you never know... there might even be a visit from a man in red!

We hope this proves a wonderful opportunity to finish off the year on a high.

Have a wonderful week

God bless

Anthony Hyde
