LENT
On Wednesday we commence the season of Lent. A time of preparation for the feast of Easter. During Lent, we give special attention to prayer (attending to quality more so than quantity), fasting (emptying ourselves that we may be filled with the life and love of Christ) and good deeds (not to win admiration for ourselves but to help others). Though it has a penitential character, Lent is a joyful season as we anticipate the resurrection of the Lord.
SHROVE TUESDAY - 21st February
We will celebrate Shrove Tuesday on 21/2/23 (next week). Students can purchase plain pancakes for $1.00 (2 in a bag). Pancakes can be ordered online through Compass or with cash on the day. All proceeds made will go towards Project Compassion.
ASH WEDNESDAY -22nd February
We welcome all of our students and their families to our whole school Mass for Ash Wednesday on 22/2/23 at 12:30. At this mass, all students will receive the ashes on their forehead.
CARITAS - Project Compassion
On Monday we welcome Alicia Benardos, the People Director from Caritas who will speak to K-6 about the work of Caritas.
On Wednesday all families will receive a small Project Compassion Box. We encourage families to donate any spare money they can to their Project Compassion Boxes. These boxes can be returned in Week 11 of Term 1 or Week 1 of Term 2. Thank you for your support.
