Boarding House

It is a pleasure to write the first newsletter for 2023 and welcome all our boarding families, local, interstate and abroad to the 2023 College community. Thank you to the families who were able to attend the Boarder Family Afternoon Tea last week. Your support and commitment is greatly appreciated. I hope that many of our boarding families will be at the Welcome Drinks, it is always a wonderful event to start the year.

Our boarders have moved in successfully and have confidently traversed the first two weeks with happy faces. Of course, we will experience ups and downs, but our team is here to support your child/ren as best as we possibly can. With 20 new faces starting their boarding journey this year, our Boarding House is a flurry of excitement and nerves. I assure you that these nerves will settle as the rhythm of boarding and school life takes effect.

Part of transitioning into boarding is being engaged in the Boarding House activities. Last weekend our annual Port Fairy surfing excursion was a hit! More than 20 boarders and staff took on the gentle waves of Port Fairy; it was a time for some of the more experience to show their skill whilst others were having a go for the very first time. Congratulations to all boarders involved – it was great to see everyone having fun. We also host activities during the week, such as Boarder of the Week presentations, Tricky Trivia Tuesday and Theme Nights, all of which I am looking forward to sharing with our community.

For those who may not be involved in boarding, I extend a warm welcome to all existing College families to come to the Boarding House for an informal walk through prior to the Welcome Drinks this Friday. The Boarding House will be open for parents and children to walk through and have a look about from 5pm. An invite is below.

Best wishes
