From the Acting Principal

It is hard to believe we are at the end of the second week of the school year. The school has been buzzing with activities and students have been actively engaged in their classrooms. We have been delighted with how our new students have transitioned and new staff have had an immediate impact. One Year 11 said: “Miss Waldron, I am loving the vibe of the school.” We are taking this is a compliment!

This week I enjoyed listening to Mrs Bradbeer, Mrs Dempsey our new VET Co-ordinator, Mrs McMullen speak to students on Wednesday about the plethora of opportunities available to our students through external providers. So much variety! The launch of the Edge and Excel programs on Thursday was further testament to the breadth of opportunities available for all students.

We have much to look forward to in Week 3 with Scholars’ Assembly, House Swimming for both our junior and senior campuses and Parent/Mentor interviews.

Can I encourage parents to complete the online training for the Child Safe standards that was emailed this week. Our parent community is critical in the successful running of so many of our co-curricular offerings. Here is the link to the required training video and form: https://tha.ac/childsafeform

Our annual Scholars Assembly is being held on Monday, 13 February at 12 noon.  This is a special occasion in the College calendar when we acknowledge the 2022 academic high achievers from across each year level in the Senior School. We invite you to watch the live stream of this event by clicking on this link: https://tha.ac/scholars-live-2023

Please remember that students are required to wear their blazers, ties and have polished school shoes for this formal event.

I hope to see you at the Parents’ and Friends’ Welcome Drinks on Friday evening. We will be enjoying the balmy weather under the trees on the Tower lawn. Our new Principal, Mr Michael Horne and wife Gemma are looking forward to meeting you. RSVP here: https://tha.ac/2023welcomedrinks
