Principal's Report

By Roger Blackwell

Over the weekend the Cyclepath Junior MTB Series at Mount Beauty was held. We had quite a few of our students participate.  Everyone did an amazing job with all participants improving on their times with each run.

On Tuesday we were all treated to a performance from the Spooky Ukies.  Over the course of the year students under Conrads instruction have learnt a variety of songs.  If you would like to enrol for lessons please see our Spooky Ukies page for contact details.

A big thank you to Mount Beauty Foodworks and everyone who has been donating their points to our school.  Our donation we received for $1284 has been used to purchase new music instruments and new sports equipment.

This week, we had our second visit from the Kinder students, as part of our 2023 Prep transition program.  Group A on Tuesday were lucky enough to watch our concert from the Spookie Ukies and had a little dance along too. The students will visit again next week as part of our formal transition program.   All students will participate in a state wide transition day on Tuesday the 13th December.

For those parents that drop off and/or collect their child/ren and have a rear bike rack and bike/s on their vehicle could they please do this by parking on the grassed area or in the Neighborhood Centre car park where the vehicle can be driven and parked well off the road. The reason for this request is that Falls Creek Coaches are having difficulty driving the busses to do the school drop off and pick ups when a car is parked in the angled car parks with a bike rack and bikes fitted to the rear of it. The overall length of the parked vehicle is significantly increased with a rack and bikes on it which makes it difficult for the bus to navigate the roadway without causing damage. WE understand that the roadway is not ideal for busses, however this strategy will help the drivers safely do their work. Thankyou for your understanding on this matter, we certainly don't want to discourage the use of bikes by the students or families in our town.

Next week (Friday the 9th of December) will be our last assembly for 2022. We invite parents and carers to come along.  After our morning assembly we will be holding a morning tea for all those parents and carers who helped out volunteering during the year, we couldn't run our excursions and camps without you. Thank you!
