News for Yr 2

On Monday, the Year 1 and 2 classes ventured off to CERES Educational Centre. When we arrived we were welcomed to the country and sat in a large circle. 

We then learnt about the 6R’s 

• Rethink
• Refuse 
• Reduce
• Reuse
• Recycle
• Rot

This then led to exploring the land with Compost Bingo. 

We even got to learn about worms and hold one. 

We also learnt about how we can reduce our paper consumption and how paper can be made. 

We learnt that some paper can be made from apple core or wombat poo!

We then had a go at making our own paper which was soo fun!

Lastly we walked around the natural rivers and paths surrounding CERES and explored their waste recovery system.
