Attitudes To School Survey
Over the coming weeks, all students at Epping Secondary College will have the chance to participate in the annual Attitudes to School survey. The survey promotes student voice as a means to improving student engagement, wellbeing and quality instruction to find out how our students feel about the school.
Students will be asked about their thoughts and feelings in relation to their school, their learning, peer relationships, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing, physical activity and life in general.
The information collected from the survey is used to understand student views to plan programs and activities to improve your child’s schooling experience.
School Camps
Term 2 sees a number of school camps running that offer the opportunity to help build connectedness, empathy and understanding between students in these cohorts, as well as providing a fun and enjoyable experience.
Our Yr11 students returned at the end of last week from Camp Lake Dewar. The Year 11's participated in a Pathways information session run by Mr Dean Malcolm, that helped students navigate VCE subject choices, VM programs, tertiary and work pathways.
The students also participated in a Mindfulness session run by Miss Antoinette Rehak, that saw a community bushwalk whereby students used the time to decompress from an adventure and action-filled camp to take in the beautiful bush surrounds of the Werribee Gorge.
Our Year 7 students are next to head off on their camp in a couple of weeks to Camp Rumbug, which aims to provide the Year 7 students with opportunities to develop their skills in teamwork, resilience and confidence, whilst developing their sense of community within our college.
Progress Reports
Term 2 Progress Reports will be published for all students next week. These reports are an opportunity for students and parents to discuss how they are going in their subjects, and to set improvement goals for the remainder of the semester.
IDAHOBIT Day
On Wednesday, May 17th, we will be celebrating the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia - IDAHOBIT Day.
As a school community, we are opposed to all forms of discrimination whether it is based on race, religion, gender, cultural background, or sexual orientation. We celebrate IDAHOBIT day in this spirit, and in accordance with our all-important value of respect, where all students have a right to feel safe and respected in the Epping Secondary College community.
