Sports Report

District Cross Country

On Friday May 5th, 70 students from Boambee Public School participated in the District Cross Country. Our 8-10 year old students ran a 2km course and our 11-13 year old students ran 3km along the beautiful shores of Bonville Creek.

Boambee students performed strongly, with many students progressing through to the next level. Not only did they perform well, their sportsmanship was outstanding. Mia Ryan was brought to my attention for stopping mid race to support another student in distress. Mia still managed to finish second place out of 40+ runners whilst being a great human being! I was very proud of our students for their effort and behaviour!

Eligible for MNC Cross Country:

8/9 year: Hugo Wyndham, Ky Banks, Eli Wiseman, Delilah McKay, Mia Booth

10 year: Marcus Buchanan, Chase Turner, Wilbur Meyers, Sofia Osterloh,

Layla Morley, Willow Findlay

11 year: Cruize Davies, Alan Herden, Mia Ryan, Amelia Alaban

North Coast Opens Rugby League Trials

On Thursday the 27th of April, Lachlan, Ryan and Jai all attended the North Coast Rugby League Trials at Geoff King Motors Oval. They had all previously been selected in our local Toormina District team and the Mid-North Coast team. It was an extremely wet and muddy day, as can be seen in the photo. Unfortunately they were not successful in being selected in the next level, however we are very proud of their achievements. Well done boys!

Boambee Public School Cricket

Our school cricket team has progressed to round four of the PSSA State Knockout after beating Bellingen Public on Monday this week. Lachlan won the toss and chose to field, the boys fielded really well, holding Bellingen to 76 runs. After losing a couple of early wickets, Lachlan and Ryan guided us to the win before drinks in the 13th over. Lachlan top scored with 40 runs and 9 fours and Ryan made 20, hitting 3 fours. The boys played really well, the practice is paying off.
