Acting Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Welcome back!

It was delightful to see so many happy, eager children walking into school this morning. I trust that all of our families enjoyed a relaxing break from school routines and we look forward to offering lots of opportunities to engage our families in some wonderful experiences throughout the term.

ANZAC Day Services

Speaking of wonderful experiences, I could not have been more proud when attending the Miners Rest Community ANZAC Day Service with our School Captains and Vice-Captains on Tuesday. Our leaders represented our school perfectly, as well as demonstrating their high levels of personal leadership on the day. On conclusion of the service, a number of community members made the time to approach our students and congratulate them on their contributions to this significant community event. Congratulations and thank you to Jet Kennedy, Ruby Hines, Mia Jolly and Sienna Ryan-Reid.

And, commencing back at school today, we hosted our own service to acknowledge the importance of ANZAC Day. The entire school did us proud today in their solemn and respectful manner leading up to, during and following what was a most successful and sincere commemoration. Thank you to our Year 5/6 Team for their preparation and commitment to ensuring a proud experience for all in attendance.

Athletics Day

And, in terms of great experiences, tomorrow we migrate to Llanberris Reserve to complete the final chapter of our Sports Competition. Last term, we finished on a high with Ball Sports and results of this day were pending on the completion of Athletics Day. Well, the day has now arrived where our athletes are ready to compete for their Sporting House to be announced as the overall winning Sporting House for 2023.

Assembly

Please join us for a very special Sporting House Assembly on Friday afternoon. Students will be sitting in their Sporting Houses, wearing their house colours and cheering on the final announcements. Come along and enjoy the fun from 2:30 pm.
