The Hut Community Centre facilitates a range of activities and services for Hills’ residents, including free community learning short courses and a range of workshops and events for all ages. This year's Festival will be held on the 19th and 20th of April at Kuitpo Wirra inparri and it will be BIGGER and BETTER than ever!  There'll be a stage featuring: 

  • Welcome to Country from Kaurna elder Uncle Tamaru and David Booth (Warumungu/Yaggera) 
  • Australia's favourite puppet show, The Amazing Drumming Monkeys 
  • The Deadly Nannas/Nragi Muthar teaching the Ngarrindjeri language and culture through song 
  • Family DJ and creator of international smash-hit early years shows, Monski Mouse 
  • Aboriginal artist and performer David Booth (Warumungu/Yaggera) 

Plus, 20 different experiences to try! Like:  

  • Nature crowns and mask making 
  • Rock climbing
  • Aboriginal message stones
  • Nature potions and tinkering (brought to you by Nippy’s)
  • Nature's secret garden (brought to you by Climbing Tree)
  • Guided nature walks (brought to you by SA Power Networks)
  • Natural loose parts play

Tickets are $25 per child and $12.50 per adult; GST and Eventbrite fees apply. Babies under 12 months are free but will still need a ticket. BUY TICKETS

 

 

Positive Partnership Parent/Carer Workshop for parents or carers of children on the Autism Spectrum

 

The Autism Inclusion Teacher Network is holding a 2 Day workshop for parents and carers of children on the autism spectrum, called 'Positive Partnerships Parent /Carer Workshop'. 

This workshop will be held at a venue in Marion on the 14th & 15th June 2023

It is for parents, full time carers and grandparents. It provides an opportunity for local families to learn more about autism and ways to strengthen the home-school partnership. You can find out more or register through thelinks below:

Rangers Junior Soccer Club is a community club, based at Ashton Oval (Jennings Drive). The club has a very supportive parent group and offers a friendly, welcoming and fun team environment for children of all levels of ability to get out and enjoy playing soccer. In 2023, the Rangers are fielding mixed teams in the U7, U8, U9, U13 and U15 age categories. We are welcoming new players in every age group. Training is every Thursday starting 20 April 2023, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm for primary school aged players. Matches are Saturday mornings, beginning 29 April 2023 and continuing for terms 2 and 3. History book for sale 

Have you seen the Uraidla book written by local historian Geoffrey Bishop on behalf of the East Torrens Historical Society? It tells the story of the Uraidla township, from the beginning to current day and is a fascinating read!

Books are $35 and there are copies for sale at the Front Office.
