GRIP student leadership conference - Bendigo

The theme of the GRIP conference was How to be an 'Others First' leader. Our students discovered the people a leader can impact the most and how to get everybody on board with a new idea.

There were a number of times when our school was called to the stage to take part in one of the leadership activities. There was some role play work down in the chair area and some discovery/getting to know you activities on the floor space, mixing with other schools.

Schools came from all over Central and Northern Victoria. Our students met students from Tooleybuc (NSW), Bridgewater, Murrabit, Tongala, Koondrook, Lake Boga, Swan Hill, Pyalong, Bendigo, Elmore, Dunolly, Timor, Ararat, Kerang, Cohuna, Sunbury, Wallan and Eppalock.

Mother's Day High Tea

Our Mother's Day High Tea was an absolutely lovely afternoon with 32 mums, grandmas and significant others in attendance.

They were serenaded by the Choir, heard some 'odes to mum' from the 2/3 and 3/4 classes and were entertained by the F/1 Penguin dance.

The students lovingly made the sandwiches; cucumber and dill, cucumber and cheese and ham and cheese with garlic aeoli. With Scones, jam and cream, and macaroons there was tea and coffee in fine china and something yummy to eat.

A prize drawn at the conclusion saw Leighan take home a basket of goodies for some pampering at home.

Thank you to all the families who attended and to our students for putting on such a memorable afternoon.

Planting with Buddies at Anderson's Road

Foundation/1

We planted eucalyptus with our buddies. We had to plant trees and we put a blanket on them. We watered them. We put a plastic around to keep the plant safe. Then we packed up and then we went on the bus and we came back to school.
