Reading

We are super impressed with how well the prep students have remembered all our sounds from last term, we can tell they have been practising! Over Week 1 we have been recapping over our alphabet sounds and identifying the first sound in words. 

In Week 2 we have learnt 3 new digraph sounds! - ai, oa, ie 

Writing

We have started recount writing! In Week 1 the students had the experience of visiting Mr Abdallah and Mr Clydesdale office. They wrote a title, picture and a sentence about the event. In Week 2, students pretended to roast marshmallows on a campfire in the classroom and used that super fun experience to write a recount about. They’re very excited about what could be next!

Maths

Throughout Week 1 and 2 this term, prep students have been recapping over their understanding of how to count correctly, learning about the teen numbers, how to order numbers successfully as well as ordinal numbers. They have participated in various hands-on experiences to help boost their learning and are growing very confident in their ability! 

Athletics Day

On Tuesday, the prep students participated in their first Athletics Day Carnival! They all did an amazing job having a go at long jump, hurdles, sack races, frisbee throws and high jump! We are so proud of how well the preps demonstrated our PROUD values throughout the day and earned points for their houses!
