Mission to Mars

On the first day of term 2, Year 9 students undertaking the Earth in the Universe elective had the opportunity to go on a day-long excursion to the Victorian Space Science Education Centre in Strathmore.

These students took part in a simulated Mars exploration mission, giving them a chance to experience some of the work which will be done by future explorers of the red planet. Split into two groups, each group rotated between working as Astronauts undertaking the ground mission to Mars, and Mission Control staff on Earth providing the Astronauts with support and instructions.

The day was a great success, with all involved having a fantastic day!
