Greece Study Tour 2023
Our third tour (a break due to COVID), and the best ever. 29 students and 4 teachers from GSC, plus 3 extra adults with an association with the school.
We need to congratulate our students on their excellent behaviour throughout the tour. We received great feedback from hotels, the guides and places we visited.
Our tour guides were excellent, engaging the students with relevant stories leading up to each site we visited.
Our packed itinerary was always expanded by Mr Savvinos with tours through the back streets of Athens and the Agora, a visit to the Archaeological Museum in Athens, pre-dawn and sunset photos, the museum in Fira, and the highlight, the service at the church in Santorini on the eve of Easter Sunday, which included fireworks.
Our official itinerary included a city tour of Athens and the Parthenon, a cooking class, a cruise around the Caldera in Santorini, tour of the archaeological site at Akrotiri, a visit to a pottery studio, tour of the mainland covering the theatre at Epidaurus, the town of Nafplion, Mycenae archaeological site with a fortified citadel and the tomb of Agamemnon, Olympia archaeological site, the Delphi archaeological site, and the small town of Kalambaka, home of the Meteora monasteries. We returned to Athens for our last night enjoying a traditional Greek meal, music and dancing.
