Mindfulness: A Christian Approach

What is mindfulness?

Some people say mindfulness is just a positive form of meditation – yet research from Harvard Health suggests it can counter stress, relieve chronic pain, and even improve aspects of mood, thinking, and memory and can actually produce detectable changes in the brain”.

Research from Melbourne Uni (TRP_Impact-Narrative.pdf (theresilienceproject.com.au) has also proven that practicing mindfulness for just 6 weeks increases children’s ability to pay attention by 3 times.

Some believe it can negatively impact mental and spiritual health. As Christians, we want to understand and have a balanced biblical perspective on this prevalent therapy tool. This is a great article from Focus on the Family explaining mindfulness for Christians. Please click this link to read.
